Churchforstudents is the student ministry based at St. Thomas Crookes, Sheffield. Here at St. Thomas Crookes we LOVE students. Over the past four years the student ministry has grown from a hand full of passionate students to over 200 in community. We believe that discipleship in community and investing in future leaders is vital in making God’s Kingdom known in our lives and in the world.

Clusters (mid-size communities of 15-30 students) is where you will gain life-long friends, grow in your faith and practically serve your local community through mission. We currently have 10 Clusters, each with there own leadership team and vision.
Cluster Visions Include:
- Club Outreach – giving out bottles of water, helping vulnerable students and much more
- Homeless Outreach – Meeting the homeless, building friendships and giving out food
- Cleaning Student Accommodation - Literally cleaning student flats!
- Film Nights – Inviting friends to the cinema, home cinema to watch a film and reflect on life, God and the universe
- Football Outreach
- Come Dine With Me – more or less like the TV program but with a God bit!
- Alpha
- And many more….
Each cluster contains Small Groups, where you can go deeper with God and each other. If you’re not in a Cluster then you are missing out big time!

Gathering community together is an essential part of who we are and what we do. Not only are they the best student events in Sheffield, they also provide a place to make new friends and celebrate what God is doing across the student church. Events are also perfect opportunities for students to invite their housemates and course mates along.
Our normal Sunday gatherings are at 9am, 11am and during student term time a 7pm Gathering.
Sunday Gatherings are not to be missed! All Gatherings take place at St Thomas Crookes Church. Over 250 students attend the 7pm gathering (due to sleeping habits!), however, all gatherings are incredible, each packed with great teaching, inspiring worship and the best coffee outside London!
NOTE: During Freshers week our Student Team will be meeting outside the main Student Halls of residence (both uni and Hallam) 40min before the 11am and 7pm to welcome you and guide you to our campus.
The main church gatherings take place at the following times…
9am Gathering
“They devoted themselves to – teaching – breaking of bread – prayer”
At this gathering you will experience worship, teaching, informal ‘breaking of bread’ and extended prayer.
11am Gathering
“All the believers were together and had everything in common.”
The heart of this gathering is family and students along with guests and visitors, and it has an informal, yet relevant dynamic. Kids Church meets during this gathering. Communion with all ages takes place on the 4th Sunday of every month.
7pm Gathering
“The LORD added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
The heart of this gathering is students and young adults along with guests and visitors. It has an emerging generation feel, but all are welcome. If you like the lights low and the band loud, then this is the gathering for you! The 7pm gathering only happens during student term time.
