Each year Lent sneaks up on me & starts without me readying myself to consider the implications or wonder what it actually means for my life. I look around & see friends, Christian & non-Christian alike, engage with the idea of fasting. Stopping or starting new habits or pondering a new the hidden message behind the 40 days.
This year I intend to be ahead of the curve.
At the beginning of each new year, millions of people across the world attempt one or a number of new commitments…we call these ‘new year resolutions’. For some it’s about dieting and engaging in sporting activities. For others it’s about reading more or completing certain projects. For others it’s about committing to relationships by keeping in touch with distant friends and family. Sadly, for many, these hopes for the new year last a few weeks as the reality of keeping these commitments is realised as all commitments involve hard work, COMMITMENT and sacrifice. Continue reading

We’re now over halfway through the time of Advent! The time from 1st December leading up to Christmas day. It’s season of preparation for Christmas.
