Identity 2 – Deception and Distractions
The fact is, most of us Christians know our identity lies in what Jesus did on the cross and in the love God shows every day. Living it, however, is a very different thing. Following God is ever so easy in his house, but come Monday morning and whatever our weeks bring us; we all too often forget God and go solo. As explained before, the best way is God’s way, but all too often we become convinced we know best and do things the way we want to, and therein lies the nature of human sin. Ultimately; God’s way leads to joy and ultimate fulfilment. The wages of sin is death and our pursuit of such desires will always be fruitless, leaving us wanting. But why, if we know all of this, do we fall short so consistently? Continue reading
Natter and Senior Citizen’s Service
One of the important ministries that we have at St. Thomas Crookes is the time that we invest in older people. We do this in a couple of key ways, through Natter – A Coffee drop in for retired people which runs every Tuesday morning from 10.30-11.30. Also through the Senior Citizen’s Service and Tea which takes place once a month on Sunday at 3pm and consists of a short service followed by a cup of tea and a piece of cake. Continue reading

Stand Firm. Let Go. Take Hold.
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1). The problem I have with faith is really believing that things can change, trusting in God when in a hard situation that he will break through. For me this has something to do with control.
