God is on the move!

Last night at the 7 pm gathering the Holy Spirit came big time!  Pentecost is the celebration of when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples in the upper room around 2000 years ago.  The presence of God felt tangible in the worship! It felt like God was moving all over the place.  Then the legend Andy Hawthorne from The Message Trust came and gave an inspiring talk on Acts 16, where the Apostle Paul plants a church in Philippi.

Andy and Mick (our team leader) then gave a chance for people to receive the Holy Spirit and to anybody who wanted to become evangelists. Dozens of youth, students, and young adults were queuing down the aisles to respond to the call.  Then the people who received prayer went all over the church to pray for others. It was like organised chaos! People were laughing, crying, being healed physically and emotionally and most of all meeting the living God!

Bring your mates next week when Andy Croft who helps lead Soul Survivor/ Momentum and son of our Bishop comes as a guest speaker.  God is on the move, you won’t want to miss this!  See you Sunday at the 7 pm gathering.

International Interest Meeting

Do you have an interest in a particular part of the world, praying for missions/christian work abroad, or thinking of overseas mission?  There may be opportunities to take this further right where you are, here in Sheffield!

We, in the International Church are looking at forging links with people who have an interest in overseas/internationals, and would like to invite you to an informal interest evening at St Thomas’ Crookes on Monday 11 March at 8pm (Room 2, the old Form Lounge).  It may be looking at forging informal links for friendship or hospitality, ideas of a joint event with your cell/cluster, or whatever else might spark off from meeting up.  Please come and share refreshments, meet some of our team and see what God may start up!
