So it’s finally here… Momentum begins tomorrow! So here’s all the details and stuff you need to know:
ARRIVAL:
- Momentum is at the Royal Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 6QN. The nearest train station is Castle Cary.
- We can get there after 1pm on Friday 23rd. I’m aiming to arrive around then so don’t worry about being alone and stuff! Main event starts at 7pm so make sure you arrive in good time before then so you won’t have to pitch your tent in the dark!
- It officially ends at 12am on 23rd August so many people leave on the morning of 24th August. (The last meeting is at 7pm on 23rd)
- I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHERE WE ARE CAMPING A.S.A.P!
- Wristbands: I will have them at some point (I hope!!!) I have Ben and Jon’s but the rest of us… well just pray that we get some! Have phoned up Momentum and the guy assured me I will be able to get the missing ones from the welcome desk, so hopefully all will be fine and I will give them to you when you arrive. Anyone who is working on TEAM will receive theirs on arrival from staff. If you lose your wristband once you have been given it, you have to pay £40, so my advice is don’t lose it!
FOOD:
- So we are having a Church for Students BBQ on Saturday night before the 7pm main event. Food will be provided and we will just split the cost of the receipt, meaning you don’t have to worry about keeping things cold for it and stuff. Everyone is welcome regardless of whether you are camping with us or not, just make sure you let us know by Saturday MORNING! (Everyone who has commented on the previous post is accounted for already so don’t worry!)
- This is the only organised meal and otherwise food is your responsibility… I cannot be held accountable for anyone who can’t cook and therefore starves… may I suggest that if this is a problem that you ask someone else very nicely if you can sort out food with them :) On a serious note though, if you don’t have a camping stove and stuff like that then don’t panic, just ask people when you arrive if you can eat with them.
- There is a Tesco that is a 6 minute drive away (according to AA route planner!) otherwise there is a food court on site where you can buy food although if you do choose this, apparently it’s advisable to budget £10-15 a day…
PROGRAMME:
- Click on the link for the programme for the event… It’s probably a wise idea to have a look at this before you get there just so you have a vague idea how you are going to spend the next 5 days!
- Yes seminars do start at 9.30! Yes…in the morning! And no, I have no idea how I’m going to be awake that early either!
OTHER INFO:
- Don’t forget your tent, tent pegs, poles, mallet and all useful stuff like that. Please bring a camping stove if you have one, stuff to cook the food in and eat it off! Clothes will be useful, Wellies even more so… and a bible! Don’t forget that :) Rain coats etc are advised and remember it’s cold early in the mornings regardless of if it is going to be 25 degrees during the day so a hoodie or something is probably wise!
- There is no electricity available so hair dryers and straighteners etc are sadly not worth bringing, unless you have magic ones that don’t require electricity…
- Unfortunately I have no idea on whether anyone who is going from Sheffield has space in cars etc. If you do, please make it known by either commenting on this post or on the event page, because there are a few people in need of lifts…
- My number is 07757941283, so if you get lost or have any questions and stuff then let me know. Also I will be keeping an eye on here so by all means post any questions as comments below because probably if one of you has a question, then quite a few others may have the same one.
I’m excited, hope you are too! See you tomorrow!!! :)
