Our Team are here to serve God’s church by developing resources, offer training and organize events that will enable every member to grow in their discipleship and to be equipped to demonstrate Christ’s love for His world.
Ben Gardner
Ben G is one of the southerners on team. Ben oversees all things clusters, communications, pastoral and heads up our Student Learning Community. He enjoys running and often heads off into the Hills for adventures. The last adventure he accomplished involved a bike, 500 miles and a Dutch phrase book!
Jon Hunter
Jon oversees the student church with Ben Gardner. Jon has a passion and a particular focus for mission in the city centre. Over the past few years he has worked with Sheffield Hallam students. He is married to Esther and lives in Crookes.
Rachel Bevan
Rachel is a recent uni graduate and moved up from the (somewhat) sunny south to Sheffield in 2008 to study Biblical Studies. Having finishing ‘Form‘ our church internship, she has decided to stay for another year. She is in charge of organising our annual Student Conference and all things girl related. Rachel can be found in coffee shops having some type of hot drink and long chats. She has a slight obsession with nail polish, believes tea makes most things better and is only 5 foot tall. Often referred to as the ‘organised one’ on the team, don’t be surprised if you find her making lists or handing out detailed plans of events.
James Brown
Leaving his Lancashire ways behind, JB arrived in September of 2008 as a student at Sheffield University, and now works for St Toms as a Student Worker, mainly developing Student Alpha. He can also be found at various Uni coffee outlets either serving the finest coffee’s in Yorkshire or fuelling his caffeine needs. JB likes a good chat over a hot drink or a decent meal & might have something of an Apple ( technology not fruit!) obession. [Often described as the relational team member because he knows everyone! and spends way to much time on social media sites]
Simon Henry
Simon is a third year Biblical Studies Student at the University of Sheffield. He loves going for Coffee, having pancakes for breakfast, eating sweets and reading. He will be heading up Base Camp which is an opportunity to spend time with Students discovering what it means to follow Jesus and make him the focus of our lives.
Chris Hardy
Chris oversees the production and theology of ScriptureTV. He loves to read his Bible in all circumstances…he was once rock climbing in the Lake District and was so overwhelmed with God’s creation he was compelled to read his Bible whilst hanging. What a LEGEND!
