Truth for the week
quote for the week
The gospel of justifying faith means that while Christians are, in themselves still sinful and sinning, yet in Christ, in God’s sight, they are accepted and righteous. So we can say that we are more wicked than we ever dared believe, but more loved and accepted in Christ than we ever dared hope — at the very same time.

For an overview of this weeks verses click here: Colossians 1:21 – 2:19
Whatever you’re struggling with or facing this week, the passages we’ve looked over give us hope, God made a public spectacle of all the powers and authorities that work against us. He nailed condemnation to the cross and there it is left. On that day the devil, the accuser of God’s people, lost his power of accusation, and with it death lost it’s sting. Go into this week knowing that we follow a God who has triumphed, take every thought captive (2 10:5) Cor, deflect the temptations away with this simple truth; the cross conquers all.
Reflect on these passages and invite the same power that raised Jesus from the dead to live in you this week.

We’re doing a 40 Day Bible Challenge as a Student Church to engage more with the Bible and the daily podcasts we do here as a church at STC Sheffield.
There isn’t a Foundations Daily podcast today, but there a loads of other great podcasts you can listen to in the meantime, tying in with the quote for the week, a podcast from Tim Keller can’t go far wrong. His wisdom and grasp of the heart of the christian message is refreshing to hear. Check out his Gospel in Life podcast.
