One of our students sharing a snapshot of what God’s been doing in their life:
Recently, I have been given so much peace from God and seeing a loved one come to know Jesus has been amazing. The discussions we had about faith made me really think about what I believe and has made me go so much deeper with God which I had not done before and I am so excited for this next journey with Jesus.
As a cluster, Sound put on free live music events in the city that we can invite our friends too. On the 7th February, we hosted our most recent event at the University Arms. We had three great acts; TUSK, Freezer Full of Snow, and Steve and the Sea. Each one bought their own style of music and created a really diverse and entertaining evening of music. In particular, it was great that the bands had invited so many of their own friends, as it meant the audience was more engaged and keener on participating with the music. The atmosphere was really laid back, and it was just a great chance to spend time chatting with the friends we had invited, listening to the brilliant acts.
We love hosting these events at the University Arms, and it is great to be starting to build a relationship with the staff that work there too. It was also great to have support from other clusters from church, in particular, Encounter, who came along after their own outreach and helped us pack everything down and pray over the evening.
In total, we had over 90 people at our event, a large proportion of which we’d had no contact with before. A couple of the acts came up to us and said that they couldn’t quite put their finger on what it was, but that there was a great atmosphere, different to that of a normal gig. We are so excited about what God is doing through these events, and can’t wait to see what happens at the next event! For details of our next event find us on Facebook and twitter!
This Video has really blessed me this weekend. I hope it blesses you as you worship God in the every day stuff.
